ELOPING WITH KIDS: HOW TO INCLUDE YOUR CHILDREN IN A SMALL CEREMONY

Eloping with kids is becoming more common, and it makes complete sense. If your children are part of your story, they belong in the moment you make it official.

I'm Leon, an accredited celebrant and photographer based in Llandudno. Kids are always welcome at an Elope with Leon elopement, so here is how to make the day work for everyone.

Give Them a Role

Children love feeling useful. A few ideas that suit a small ceremony:

  • Ring bearer: holding the rings until the moment arrives.

  • Reader: a short line or a drawing they have made for you.

  • Hand holder: joining a family handfasting at the end.

  • Flower gatherer: collecting wildflowers along the walk.

Include Them in the Ceremony

Your ceremony is written from scratch, so we can include a promise to your children as well as to each other. It is often the line that makes everyone emotional.

Choose an Easy Location

Short walks and flat ground keep little legs happy. A sandy beach such as Benllech, a woodland path at Coed Llandegla or a lakeside at Llyn Geirionydd all work well. Private chauffeuring is included, which makes travelling as a family easier.

Plan Around Their Rhythm

Think about naps, snacks and a favourite toy. A relaxed pace matters more than a perfect schedule, and with no crowd waiting, there is no rush.

Bring the Dog Too

Dogs are welcome as well. Eloping with your dog has ideas for including them.

Packages

The Signature is £3,250 and the Ultimate is £4,950 on the packages page, each with a bespoke ceremony, photography, Polaroids and keepsakes. Both include a year of The Love Story Collection, and the Ultimate adds a free Twilight Ceremonies Renewal of Vows, while the Signature gives 15% off Twilight.

Anywhere You Choose

You can choose anywhere: home, your garden, elsewhere in the UK or abroad.

A family elopement is small, warm and wonderfully real. Enquire about your elopement and tell me about the little people who will be by your side.
