A micro wedding in North Wales sits somewhere between eloping alone and a full wedding. It is the day for couples who want the mountains or the coast, a ceremony written just for them, and only the few people they cannot imagine it without.
I'm Leon, an accredited celebrant and photographer based in Llandudno. My elopements started with just the two of you, but more couples now ask about bringing their closest few along. Here is how I approach it.
How Small Is Small?
There is no magic number. My rule is simple: we keep it as small as possible. That might be a parent or two, a best friend, your children, or the dog who has been part of your story from the start. Kids and dogs are welcome. If you are working out the shape of it, eloping with family and eloping just the two of you show both ends of the scale.
Why Keep It So Small?
Fewer people means you can stand somewhere a coach party never could: a lakeshore, a quiet cove, a ridge with a view. The day moves at your pace. Nobody is managing a seating plan, and every guest is someone you actually want to see in your photographs.
What Stays the Same
A micro wedding with me is still an elopement at heart. Your ceremony is written from scratch around your story, and the photographs follow the whole day, not just the formal moments. The Signature Elopement starts at £3,250 and the Ultimate Elopement at £4,950 on the live packages page, with your Love Story Album, Polaroid keepsakes and private chauffeuring by me included.
The Legal Part
A celebrant-led ceremony is not legally binding on its own in Wales, so most couples handle the paperwork separately at a register office. Your guests can be your witnesses there. Is eloping legal in Wales explains it step by step.
Choose Anywhere
North Wales gives you Eryri's lakes, Anglesey's beaches, the Llŷn coast and the hills of the north-east, all within reach. But you can choose anywhere, including a place that already means something to you both.
Small does not mean less. It means everyone there is part of the story. Take a look at how to elope to North Wales, then book a call and tell me who belongs beside you.
